Hair Restoration

If you suffer from mild to moderate hair loss, or thinning hair, PRP restoration treatment can help restore and regenerate hair growth using a patient's own growth factors, known as platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) to stimulate dormant hair follicles and heal them at a cellular level.  This is ideal for receding hair lines and mild to moderate hair loss.

What to expect during your visit:

 

During your office visit, a history of your hair loss and previous treatments or medications will be reviewed.  A small amount of the patient's own blood is drawn and the tube is then placed into a centrifuge and spun to separate the blood into a supernatant plasma/platelet suspension.

Topical numbing is used on the scalp, and the area is cleaned well.  The PRP is then injected into the scalp, focusing on the area of hair loss or thinning.  The entire procedure will take about 30 minutes to an hour.  You will be able to drive yourself home.  You are asked not to wash your hair for up to 3 days so as not to disrupt the matrix, but overall you can resume your regular activity.

 

When can you expect to see results:

 

Patients usually see improvement in hair growth and texture within four weeks of the initial treatment.  However, a series of 3-4 treatments, at least a month apart are suggested for optimal results.  You will need to maintain treatments, about 1-2 per year for your hair to continue to look full.  This treatment can be done even if you have had a hair transplant or are using light based device (irestore).
